11/18/22 – This is a rare Steyr Model G29/40 issued to the Nazi military in 1939. It has the proper “Waffen 623” Steyr military acceptance proofs throughout and a “660” Steyr factory code on the receiver. Most of the metal parts are matching, but the bolt and butt plate are mismatched. The stock is also mismatched, which is “Waffen 623” proofed but also has an “Eagle L” Luftwaffe proof. The gun has lost virtually all of its original finish with obvious finish loss throughout. There are areas of spotty brown patina and pin pricking on the front barrel band and along the barrel. Some brown patina and obvious scratching on the floor plate / trigger group. Spotty oxidation on the butt plate. There is a repaired hairline crack in the front portion of the upper hand guard. Another hairline crack in the back portion of the upper hand guard around the rear sight. The rest of the stock has no major damage, but there are minor dings, dents, and scratches throughout. The bore has decent rifling, but there is minor pitting throughout. Comes with rubber muzzle cap.
