11/30/22 – This is a very nice example of a scarce “AR Code” Mauser K98 issued to the Nazi military in 1941. Almost the entire gun is matching (except for the follower), but we believe the bolt was re-numbered to match. Also the safety lever looks like it was broken and welded back on. The stock is waffen proofed and both the handguard and stock are numbered on the inside to match the gun. The right side of the butt stock is marked with a faint waffen Eagle L, indicating it was issued to the Luftwaffe. The gun has retained the majority of its finish, but there is obvious wear and spotty oxidation on the floor plate / trigger group, minor wear on the high edges in general, some small spots of wear and discoloration along the barrel, and a few light scratches on the barrel bands. Tiny dings and spotty oxidation on the butt plate. There is no major damage to the stock, just some light scuffs and handling marks here and there. The bore is shiny with good rifling, but there are some small areas of pin-pricking here and there.
