11/17/22 – This is a very nice example of a Colt Model 1911 originally issued to the US military in 1918. It is “United States Property” marked and has the proper Eagle Head military acceptance proof. There is an “RIA” marking on the right side of the frame, indicating this gun was reworked at the Rock Island Arsenal after WWI. It was there that it was refurbished, received a Savage-made slide, and received a WW2-era High Standard barrel. It also comes with its original RIA shipping box with remnants of its original Railway Agency and RIA labels visible. Also comes with a cleaning brush. The gun itself is in very nice condition. There is almost no actual wear in its new parkerized finish, but there are areas of pin-pricking under the finish here and there on the frame. Comes with excellent WW2-era reddish plastic grips and one WW2-era magazine. The bore is mint.
