11/16/22 – This is an excellent example of a Colt Official Police revolver, manufactured in 1949 and chambered in .38 Special. This one comes with a period-correct box that is not number. The side panels on the lid have mostly ripped away and the side panels of the box are fairly torn (being held together with scotch tape). The gun itself is all matching and has retained about 97% of its original finish. There is very wear around the muzzle and on the high edges of the cylinder. Very light roll mark on the cylinder as well. A few small handling marks along the right side of the barrel. Comes with excellent marbled brown and black plastic grips. Minty bore. The cylinder is tight and the action is smooth.
