11/15/22 – This is an original Winchester M1917 bayonet for the 1903 and Enfield rifles, as well as the US trench shotguns. The bayonet is in great condition with an excellent blade that is stamped “1917 W” for Winchester on one side of the ricasso, and the reverse is stamped with a US flaming bomb ordnance stamp. The blade is very clean with no signs of sharpening. The pommel is numbered “239” which is likely a unit stamp of some kind. There’s mild surface patina throughout the hand guard and pommel, and the original wood handle is in great shape. Comes with an original scabbard that’s also in great condition with dark patina throughout the metal fittings, and all the original leather intact. The backside of the scabbard is stamped “J” for Jewell and inspector stamped “H.E.”.
