11/29/22 – This is a very nice example of a Mauser Luger issued to the Nazi military in 1938. It is all matching, has the proper “S/42” Mauser factory code, and has the proper “Eagle 83” Nazi military acceptance proofs. It comes as a rig with a nice 1940-dated holster, “Eagle 655” marked Luger tool, a mismatched “Eagle 83” proofed magazine, and a spare magazine with a replaced aluminum bottom. The gun itself has retained about 95-96% of its original bluing. There is minor wear on the side plate, side rails, and around the muzzle. Very minor pin-pricking around the muzzle. Very light freckling on the side plate. There is very minor thinning and spotty brown patina on both grip straps. Comes with excellent matching-numbered wood grips. The rifling in the bore is slightly worn with minor pitting throughout.
