10/27/22 – This is a nice example of a “42 Code” Mauser Luger issued to the Nazi military in 1939. The gun is mostly mismatched but does have the correct “Eagle 63” military acceptance proofs. There is a “Russian Capture X” on the left side of the slide but no evidence of a Russian re-finish. The gun has retained roughly 70% of its finish. There is noticeable thinning on the barrel, slide, and both grip straps. Light spotty oxidation on both grip straps as well and scratchy wear on the front strap. Some light scratches on the left side of the frame as well. Comes excellent non-matching wood grips and a post-war magazine. The rifling in the bore is a little worn with minor pin-pricking throughout. This would make a great shooter.
