10/24/22 – This is an excellent example of a WW1-era M1916 U.S. holster made by Shaffer & Rossum. The exterior leather is in excellent condition overall, showing only minor wear throughout. The closure flap does show minor wrinkling along its fold, there are minor scuff marks here and there, and the closure knob has cause slight flaring and wrinkling in the flap’s leather from normal use. The interior leather is excellent condition as well showing minor use wear throughout. The back of the holster is maker marked “S&R” and shows inspector stamp ” J.P.C.”. There is an additional marking from a previous owner that reads “J2084”. The stitching is strong and clean throughout. Overall, an excellent WW1-era leather M1916 holster.
