10/20/22 – This is a nice example of a Birmingham Small Arms SHT LE No. 1 Mk III Rifle, issued to the British military during WW1. There are British proofs throughout. The gun is mismatched. There is a crossed-out serial number on the receiver, evidence that this gun may have been reworked at an arsenal. Import mark on the right side of the receiver. No visible numbering on the stock. The gun is in nice condition overall, but has lost most of its finish. There is even thinning throughout, most noticeable on the receiver. The stock has minor bruising throughout and a more noticeable chip around the wrist. Very nice bore with good rifling.
