10/20/22 – This is an excellent example of a Smith-Corona Model 03-A3 rifle issued to the US military during WW2. The serial number on the receiver dates it to 1944. The barrel is S-C marked and dated July of 1943. The left side of the stock has a faint “FJA” inspection stamp and cross-canon military cartouche. The markings are hard to see, so we believe the stock has been sanded. The finish on the metal parts appears to have been arsenal-refurbished. In any case, the gun is in excellent condition overall with just minor muzzle wear and wear on the barrel bands. Minty bore. Comes with a green canvas sling.
