10/11/22 – This is a minty example of a rare Colt ACE that was issued to the U.S. military in 1945. This particular gun was part of one of the last deliveries of these guns, about 1,500 in total, in August of 1945. It has a rare “JSB” inspector proof, which stands for John S. Begley, the final WW2 inspector. The original parkerized finish rates at 98% with a little muzzle wear, and a little wear on the underside of the slide from rubbing against the frame. Mint bore. Excellent, sharply checkered grips. Magazine is marked ‘COLT / 22 ACE L.R. / SERVICE MODEL’ on the base.
