10/10/22 – This is a nice example of a Remington Model 1917 rifle issued to the US military in 1918. It has the proper “flaming bomb” and “eagle head” military proofs throughout. HS marked barrel. The gun is in nice condition overall, but it has lost nearly all of its finish with fairly even wear throughout. Minor pitting on the front barrel band. Excellent wood stock with an “eagle head 339” marking just in front of the floor plate. The bore has decent rifling, but there areas of minor pitting in the grooves.
