10/7/22 – This is an example of Heinrich Himmler’s signature penned onto a Third Reich Appointment Letter for Gruppenfuhrer Querner from May of 1941. The letter references Rudolf Querner’s reassignment and release of duty. It is dated May 1st, 1941. Rudolf Querner is the infamous SS Officer responsible for evacuation of numerous POW and concentration camps. He was arrested by the Allies at the end of the war but committed suicide while captive in Magdeburg. Heinrich Himmler is the infamous Reichsfuehrer of the SS, and this letter was sent from his headquarters to Querner’s in Hamburg. This example came to our consignor from Morphy Auctions, who verified the Himmler signature as “…without question authenticate.” A clipping of the original auction advertisement is included with the letter and shown in the photos.
