8/16/22 – This is a nice example of a BYF 43 Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1943. The gun is all matching and has the proper “Eagle 135” military acceptance proofs throughout. It comes as a rig with a nice 1944-dated soft shell holster (small hole cut into the toe), one period-correct magazine, and one post-war magazine. We believe the whole upper of the gun (slide and barrel) have been refinished. In any case, the gun has retained roughly 85% of its bluing. The majority of the finish loss is on the front strap, where there is also spotty oxidation. Minor muzzle wear and wear along both sides of the slide, concentrated mostly around the high edges. Comes with excellent period-correct bakelite grips. The bore has good rifling, but there is noticeable spotty freckling throughout. De-cocker is functional.
