8/18/22 – This is an excellent example of an Eickhorn Army Dagger, complete with an original scabbard, portepee, and hanger. The dagger features a minty blade with excellent cross-graining. There’s some mild scabbard surface scratching near the tip of the blade but very minimal oxidation and no signs of sharpening. The hand guard and pommel still have some traces of the original finish intact with surface patina throughout. The handle has no chord wrapping, but the bakelite has no cracks or chips. The portepee is excellent with a tight knot. The scabbard has surface patina and finish loss on the exterior. The interior has a piece that’s loose and you can hear it moving when you tilt the scabbard. When the dagger is out of the scabbard, you can hear this rattling distinctly. This doesn’t affect functionality however. The hanger is DRGM stamped on the clips and is in great condition.
