7/19/22 – This is an excellent example of a Mauser HSC issued to the Kriegsmarine in 1944. It is all matching and is considered a 4th variation example, characterized by having only the “Eagle M 111/8” on the left side of the trigger guard – no “Eagle M” on the front strap. It comes as a rig with one period-correct half-moon magazine and one original Navy-marked HSC holster. The gun itself has retained about 94% of its original finish. There is minor muzzle wear, some wear along both sides of the slide (concentrated mostly around the high edges), and some small dots of discoloration on the left side of the slide. Although there is not much actual finish loss, there are areas of pin-pricking here and there on the slide, light freckling on both sides of the frame, and some brown patina on the grip straps. Comes with nice period-correct wood grips – there are tiny bruises throughout and a small chip on the left side. Mint bore.
