7/17/22 – This is an excellent example of a Remington Rand Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1944. It is “United States Property” marked, has a cross-canon military cartouche on the right side of the frame, and has the proper “FJA” inspector initials. Also has a proper High Standard barrel. Overall, the gun has retained about 80% of its original finish. Generally, there is only very minor wear around the high edges in general and very minor thinning on the front strap. While there is very little actual finish loss, there is light brown patina under the finish here and there. Comes with nice period-correct plastic grips (slightly worn on the right side) and a proper “S” marked magazine. The rifling in the bore is a little worn with tiny pits in the grooves.
