7/13/22 – This is an original WW2 production P.38 hard shell style holster. This is an interesting example because the back leather has no maker code or date stamp. Instead, there’s a number stamp “0/0836/0029” on the back leather. The back leather is also P.38 stamp and waffen military proof stamp on the back leather as shown. Our research finds that this number is a contract or distributor number. This is found on 1943 and 1944 dated examples, so this is likely a later wartime production piece. The leather and stitching are in great condition. The leather has some mild scuffing and surface wear but no major damage.
