7/6/22 – This is an original WW2 production Type 97 Japanese Naval Officer’s Sword. The sword comes with an original scabbard as shown. The blade is factory made, and has some mild surface scratches on the blade flat and blade ridge on both sides. The edge has multiple, very small dings or imperfections. The blade otherwise is shiny with a noticeable tempered edge. The hand guard has typical patina and the handle has normal signs of handling wear and aging. No excessive wear or damage. The wood scabbard has a crack along the front spine near the toe. The metal fittings are somewhat loose and can be moved from their original position (see photos, you can see the shadow where the hangers were). Priced accordingly.
