6/14/22 – This is a very nice example of a Winchester M1 Carbine issued to the US military around 1943. Both the receiver and barrel are Winchester. The stock is not maker marked but looks like it has an “816” rack number in the sling well. The condition of the stock and upper handguard do not match. “S” marked flip-up rear sight. Comes with one proper magazine. From examining the finish, we believe this gun has been adrenal reworked and refinished. In any case, there is very little actual finish loss – just a few tiny handling marks here and there and some areas of tiny pitting under the finish along the barrel. Minor dings, dents, and scratches along the stock. The handguard is in better condition. The bore has good rifling, but there is spotty oxidation here and there.
