10/5/23 – This is an excellent example of a BYF 44 Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1944. It is all matching and has the proper “Waffen 135” military acceptance proofs throughout. The finish is dark, so we believe it has been “dipped”. In any case, there are almost no actual signs of wear, just one spot of discoloration on the top plate. Comes with nice period-correct black plastic grips – they are cut down, and there are tiny scratches here and there. Also comes with a period-correct Mauser magazine. The bore has strong rifling with light freckling throughout. De-cocker is functional.
