5/24/22 – This is a rare variation 1944 dated hard shell style P.38 holster from the end of WW2. The holster has a faint “gmo” maker stamp and “44” date code. Under this stamp is a very faint waffen eagle military proof stamp. To the right of the belt loops is the typical P.38 stamp, barely visible. Just above the left belt loop is a strong, distinct series of number stamps 0/0655/0013 as shown. These numbers were part of a later wartime coding system that collectors speculate retains to district numbers or sorting facilities. The holster is in good overall condition with treated leather that shows some mild scuffing and surface wear, but holds nice shape and has normal pliability throughout. No notable stitching issues.
