5/23/22 – This is a very hard to find Walther P.38, with ’40’ added under the ac proof on left side slide. There were only 5,700 of this variation produced, made in November of 1940 with the ’40’ added after the gun was blued. It is all matching and has the proper “Eagle 359” military proofs throughout. We believe this gun has an old re-blued finish. There is an area of wear on the right side of the slide and a couple of tiny spots on the left side. There are some areas of pin-pricking here and there that have been blued-over, most noticeable on the front strap. Comes with excellent waffen-proofed (not numbered) grips and an “Eagle 359” proofed magazine. The bore has good rifling, but there is minor freckling throughout. De-cocker is functional.
