5/5/22 – This is an original and correct Springfield Armory M1 Garand from late in 1944. Sharp N.F.R. inspectors mark on the stock with two crossed cannons cartouche and circle P proof. All Springfield parts throughout with barrel date of August, 1944. The original finish shows some wear and patina on the receiver, and thinning all along the gas tube. Stock has dings and handling wear, and a small gouge near the trigger guard. No cracks or structural issues though. Bore has decent rifling but frost throughout. TE of 5, muzzle is a 3.
