5/2/22 – This is an original WW2 era production K98 bayonet. The bayonet comes with a period-correct scabbard and a leather frog. The bayonet blade is excellent with beautiful bluing throughout. The ricasso is serial numbered on one side, and there are no other markings. This is fairly unusual as these typically have a stamp on the spine or reverse of the blade. Instead, this example has a “S 8” stamped on the hand guard, although we aren’t sure of the significance. The handle and hilt are both in great shape as well with some mild surface wear but no rust or pitting. The waffen codes on the push button and pommel indicate Alex Coppel as the manufacturer. the scabbard has some mild surface wear but no major issues. The frog is in great condition as well.
