4/26/22 – This is an original WW2 British Paratrooper Denison Smock. This is a 2nd pattern jacket issued to Special Operations Executive (SOE) agents, as well as paratroopers and pilots. All of the buttons, snaps, and zippers are in excellent condition. No stitching issues as well, and minimal wear throughout the jacket. The front of the smock has some fraying, as does the collar, but this is generally mild. The smock features a half-zip on the front, and a “duck bill” tail that folds up and snaps to the back of the jacket. This tail was used under the crotch and snapped to the front of the jacket during jumps to prevent the jacket from riding up during a parachute decent. Unfortunately, the interior tag has faded to the point where we can’t see the size & date of production. However, the buttons are all brass and made by Newby, which is found on other WW2 examples. The zipper is marked “MADE IN ENGLAND” with a DOT maker stamp.
