4/5/22 – This is a Colt M1911 that was manufactured for the military in 1918. Originally, this would have been blued. However, this pistol was re-worked and parkerized for WWII by Augusta Arsenal as indicated by the “AA” stamp just above the magazine release. There is some minor pin pricking on top of the slide that was cleaned up prior to parkerizing. Inspector stamped by J.M. Gilbert as indicated by the “JMG” Stamp. Original barrel stamped with “PH” on the top. Bore is still fairly clean with only minor pitting and good rifling. Rates about 7 of 10. Grips are post war plastic. Includes a beautiful display case with 2 magazines. One magazine is post WWII and the other is a Rison stamped “R’ on the toe of the base plate. The pictured ammunition is not included.
