4/1/22 – This is an excellent Walther P.38 rig from 1941 with holster, spare magazine and one of the original, matching magazines. It’s an all matching, second variation example with ~94% of the high-polish blue remaining. Holster wear on the muzzle and front edges of the slide, and a little more on the front strap and trigger guard. Good mechanics, including de-cocker. The bore is tough to rate on this one as it’s very shiny with strong rifling, but a previous owner didn’t care for it well enough and there is pitting in the grooves. The strong rifling leads us to believe it would still be an accurate shooter. Excellent brown grips with E/359 markings inside. The spare mag is Mauser-made. The rig is complete with a very nice hardshell holster that has visible waffenamt and faint maker mark. Holster is 1943 dated.
