12/30/22 – This is a great example of a P-1907 bayonet manufactured by Australian Lithgow Armory for a No 1. MkIII Enfield rifle. The blade is in excellent condition, the markings are crisp and the blade has maintained a majority of its original blue. The edge of the blade has been sharpened, but due to how uniformly it was done, we believe it to have been machine sharpened. The left side is marked with “1907/I” inside a shield under the Australian Commonwealth 7-sided star, and ” 10 ’21 / Lithgow”, indicating it was manufactured in October 1921. The right side shows two Australian government acceptance proofs, a large “X” blade bending mark, as well as a broad arrow English government proof mark. The pommel is marked “A 90043” corresponding to the serial number of the rifle it was for. The scabbard and pommel of this bayonet show minor pitting and oxidation in some areas, but are in overall great condition. The scabbard is a brown leather, but is neither dated or maker marked.
