3/31/22 – This is a Czech BRNO Vz 24 rifle that was part of the Romanian contract – produced during the reign of King Carol II of Romania. As such this rifle was marked with the Crest of King Carol II. Today, these crests are extremely rare as most were removed during post war refurbishment by the Romanians under Communist control. The gun is matching (except for the rear barrel band), but some of the parts have been re-numbered to match including the stock and front barrel band. We assume the gun was reworked for issue to the Nazi military as some of the parts have Nazi military acceptance proofs such as the stock disc and follower. Several parts also have the Czech “CZ” proof such as the rear sight and butt plate. There is brown patina on the receiver, minor muzzle wear, and some small handling marks along the barrel. It looks like the gun had some black paint splashed on it that was later mostly cleaned off – it is most noticeable on the left side of the stock, right side of the stock around the rear barrel band, and floor plate. It looks like it was not cleaned off near the rear barrel band and one spot on the left side of the butt stock. The stock has noticeable scratching and bruising throughout. Comes with a leather sling, cleaning rod, and front sight hood. The bore has decent rifling with minor pin-pricking throughout.
