3/24/22 – This is an excellent example of a Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1943. The gun is all matching and has the proper “Eagle 135” military acceptance proofs throughout. It comes as a rig with a nice 1944-dated softshell holster, one period-correct “Eagle 135” Mauser magazine, and one period-correct Walther magazine. The gun has retained about 95% of its bluing. The slide has a characteristic “dust blue” finish. The finish on the slide appears to be a little thin, but that’s how these finishes are by nature. There is minor wear on the high edges of the slide, around the muzzle, on the top plate, and some minor thinning on the front strap. There are areas with tiny dots of oxidation on both sides of the slide and on the front strap. One small area of oxidation on the left side of the barrel. Comes with excellent period-correct reddish grips. The bore is shiny with very strong rifling and some light freckling here and there. De-cocker is functional.
