2/24/22 – This is a minty example of a Smith-Corona Model 1903-A3 rifle issued to the US military in May of 1943. The gun also comes with a very nice 1918-dated Springfield Arsenal bayonet with the original scabbard, though the blade has been shortened. It also comes with a front sight hood that is “US”-marked and has a military flaming bomb. The stock is marked “OG”, indicating it was replaced at the Ogden arsenal. The bolt is Remington-marked, and the bolt handle is marked “B&S”, also a replacement. The trigger guard is also Remington. The gun has a Smith-Corona barrel dated 3-43. Overall, the gun is in minty condition, retaining most of its parkerized finish. There is just some minor discoloration on the receiver. The wood stock is minty with only minor handling marks handling marks here and there. The bore is mint.
