2/21/22 – This is a nice, honest Colt Model 1917 revolver rig that was U.S. military issued during the Great War. The revolver shows handling and holster wear throughout, with several areas of thinning, but it’s a representative example of a gun that’s “been there”. The grips are original to the gun, and correctly hand-numbered inside with the matching serial. Barrel is ‘UNITED STATES PROPERTY’ marked with Eagle/7 proof on frame. Bore has decent rifling but some frost and minor freckling in the grooves. The rig comes with all the extras, which includes an excellent 1917 dated holster with only minor cracking on the back. The grouping also includes the original WW1-era belt, canteen, clip pouch, first aid kit, and six half-moon clips with vintage ammo included. All the items are 1917 or 1918 dated, so it’s possible many of these items have been together for a century now.
