2/21/22 – This is an army-issued Colt 1911A1 from 1942. While all parts are WWII original, this is somewhat of a “put-together” example. The slide is numbered but it’s a 1943 example and mismatched to the frame. There are also some replaced small parts, such as the barrel which is ‘HS’ marked and the mainspring housing. The finish is original on the slide and frame, as this is not an arsenal rebuild. Minor edge wear in general, but most of the finish loss is on the front strap. Bore is shiny with strong rifling, and just minor use wear. Excellent grips. ‘S’ marked magazine.
