12/30/22 – This is an ultra rare and original Springfield Armory 1911 pistol with ‘N.R.A.’ marked frame. Beginning in1915, a number of Model 1911 pistols were made available to N.R.A. members and affiliates. Among the M1911s sold during the prewar years was a group of approximately 100 pistols purchased through Springfield Armory by National Rifle Association Life Members and members of N.R.A.-affiliated clubs. Both Colt and Springfield Armory-produced examples were included in this program. These pistols carried a purchase price of $16 each, and were stamped with the letters, “N.R.A.” on the right side of the frame below the serial number. This one is all original with Springfield parts throughout. It has about 60% of the original blue remaining, with honest wear throughout on slide and grip frame. Bore is generally clean but has minor frost and wear from use. Nice grips with no cracks or chips. Original two-tone magazine with lanyard ring.
