1/7/22 – This is a really nice example of a Colt Government Model 1911A1 sold in the commercial market in 1926. It is all correct and has a commercial barrel marked “S” under the lug. It has retained somewhere between 85-90% of its beautiful original Colt high polish bluing. Most of the finish loss is on the high edges of the slide and around the muzzle. There is also some wear on the rear grip safety and some scratchy wear on the front strap. There is a light surface scratch on the left side of the frame near the front edge and a few minor scratches near the slide stop. It comes with very nice period-correct wood grips (a few minor bruises) and a proper two-tone magazine. The bore is near-mint.
