1/5/22 – This is an original WW1 era uncut bayonet for the model 1903 Springfield rifle. The bayonet is uncut with a 16 inch blade. Unfortunately the blade has been re-blued. The result is a dark, clean finish throughout with no signs of sharpening nor any issues. Maker stamped by Springfield Armory with a 1913 date stamp. Nice wood handle and typical patina throughout the metal fittings. The scabbard has the original leather cover, but the leather is beginning to split at the toe as well as the top, as shown in photos. This is mostly a stitching issue and relatively minor. The back of the leather is maker stamped and dated 1907.
