1/5/22 – This is a WW1 era bayonet for the Springfield model 1903 rifle. The bayonet has a 16 inch blade that’s shiny with some light surface wear but no major damage. No signs of sharpening. Maker stamped, ordnance, stamped, and US stamped as shown. The wood handle has no notable cracks or chips. There’s typical patina throughout the metal hand guard and pommel. The scabbard still has the attached metal hanger and leather cover on the tube. The leather is cracking and fairly worn but still in tact and attached. Maker stamped R.I.A. and 1909 dated on the back side of the leather.
