1/3/22 – This is an excellent example of a very interesting DWM Luger. It was first issued to the Weimar-era police force in the 1920’s, as evidenced by the Weimar police Eagle proofs on the right side of the slide and “1921” chamber date. It was re-worked after WW2 and issued to the VOPO, or East German police force. This is evidenced by the East German police-style grips and small East German proof on the left side of the frame, just below the takedown lever. The barrel was replaced and has a “Crown N” commercial proof. The gun is all matching, but some of the parts were numbered at the arsenal to match. The gun comes as a rig with an end-of-WW2 pigskin holster, one matching police-numbered magazine, and one mismatched police-numbered magazine. The gun was arsenal-refurbished and has retained most of its finish. There are some very light handling marks here and there. One small dent and scratch on the front strap and some denting on the side plate. The bore is near-mint.
