12/28/21 – This is a very nice example of an Enfield SMLE Mk III* Rifle issued to the British military in 1918. The gun has the proper British military proofs throughout, but there is an import mark on the right side of the receiver. There are several markings and a 1944 date on the right side of the butt stock, so it was likely re-worked for use during WW2. There is not much actual finish loss, but there is pin-pricking covering most of the metal parts and minor wear on most of the high edges. Noticeable thinning on the rear barrel band. The gun comes with a tan canvas sling. The wood stock has minor dings, dents, and scratches here and there. The rifling in the bore is a bit worn with pin-pricking throughout.
