12/9/21 – This is a near-mint example of a DWM Luger issued to the Imperial German military in 1916. It is all matching and has the proper Imperial German military proofs on the right side of the slide. It comes as a rig with a minty 1916-dated tan leather holster, an imperial-marked Luger tool, cleaning cotton swabs, oilers, cleaning brushes, a lanyard, a muzzle protector, a matching-numbered magazine, and one un-numbered period-correct magazine. The gun has retained about 97-98% of its original finish. There are just hints of wear on the side plate and one small spot of wear at the base of the back strap. A few very light scratches on the front strap and very minor freckling on both straps. Comes with minty matching-numbered wood grips. The bore is shiny with very strong rifling and some areas of light freckling. The holster has some re-done stitching on the bag, and the magazine pouch is separating slightly. The maker mark and date (1916) are original markings though. The muzzle attachment is for the conversion barrels that were available some years later. The lanyard and extras appear aged but we aren’t certain if they are all WW1 original. Lanyard is likely later production.
