11/17/21 – This is an extraordinarily rare DWM Luger that was produced as part of a small contract order by the Bolivian Government in 1913. Only 5-10 are known to exist, and very little is known about the contract order. The author of The Mauser Parabellum mentions a serial range of roughly 7,000 digits, all in the commercial serial range. This one features a Bolivian military crest over the chamber, and the safety is marked ‘seguro’, with ‘cargado’ marked extractor. The right side of the frame is marked ‘EJERCITO DE BOLIVIA’ for “Army of Bolivia”. It’s a 1908 model with no stock lug or hold open. All numbered parts part, and the grips and magazine are both unnumbered. Right grip panel has the common chip under the safety. The bluing is excellent overall with minor high edge wear in a few areas. There’s also some oxidation on the grip frame. Small parts retain 80% of the straw. Bore is in good condition overall, but shows some wear to the rifling and a little frost throughout.
