11/9/21 – This is an original 1942 dated leather holster for a Model 1903 or a M1 Garand rifle. These holsters were often attached to Jeeps and vehicles for safe rifle transportation. The leather case is maker stamped and dated on the front leather near the opening. The stamp is fairly faint yet still visible. The leather has surface wear throughout and some signs of aging but no excessive wear or damage. The toe has a small hole intentionally cut, but we’re not sure why. No notable stitching flaws. The leather attachment sling has surface wear but is in tact.
