9/29/21 – This is an original, early 1st variation Luftwaffe dagger from pre/early WW2. The dagger comes with a somewhat worn scabbard and an original chain hanger. The blade is maker stamped by Gebr. Heller Marienthal and has very nice nickel plating throughout. There is some minor discoloration and surface oxidation in a few scattered areas, but nothing major. The leather on the handle has some mild surface scuffs and chips, but this is generally honest wear from aging and not excessive. The leather on the scabbard is mostly gone, leaving a metal patina finish showing. The chain is unmarked but original.
