9/17/21 – This is a nice example of a rare, early Mauser Model 1910 sold in the commercial market between 1911-13. This gun is an early “side latch” model. It is all matching and has the proper “Crown U” commercial proofs. This one is unique because it has a “Von Lengerke & Detmold. New-York.” private retailer marking on the right side of the slide, indicating it was sent to the US for resale in the retail market. It has retained roughly 85% of its original finish. There are areas of spotty wear and oxidation throughout, concentrated on the barrel, both sides and top of the slide and on the front strap. Areas of tiny pits on both sides of the slide. Some of the small parts still have much of the original fire bluing. Comes with a nice wood grip (minor bruising throughout) and a period-correct nickeled magazine. The rifling in the bore is a bit worn with minor pitting in the grooves.
