9/1/21 – This is a nice example of a Colt Police Positive Revolver, chambered in .38 Special. The serial numbers have been milled and re-stamped, so we’re not sure exactly when it was made – most likely the 1930’s from the patent date. 4 inch barrel. Comes with nice hand-checkered grips that are slightly worn. The cylinder is tight and the action is smooth. It has retained about 60% of its original high polish bluing. Most of the finish loss is on the barrel, but there is also finish loss on the high edges of the cylinder. Light roll mark on the cylinder. Spotty oxidation throughout. The bore is near mint.
