8/18/21 – This is rare Japanese Type 22 1st variation bayonet. The bayonet has a shortened handle, measuring just under 3.5 inches. The blade is 11 inches tip to base. The hand guard has a full mum stamp, and manufacture stamp, as shown. Most of the finish on the metal hand guard and pommel is missing, as these were originally blued. The blade has some light patina throughout but no major wear. No signs of sharpening.
