8/16/21 – This is an excellent example of a Springfield M1 Garand issued to the US military in 1942. The receiver dates to December of 1942, the barrel has the same date. The stock has a small cross-canon cartouche and “P” proof on the wrist – SA inspection proof on the left side. Some of the small parts look like they have been replaced. The gun has retained most of its finish with some wear around the muzzle and scratchy wear on the barrel. Some light surface scuffs on the left side of the receiver. The stock has a few noticeable dings in front of the receiver and some circular machine marks in the same area and on the handguard. Minty bore. Muzzle reading: 3. Throat reading: 1.
