7/1/21 – This is an excellent example of a DWM Luger sold in the commercial market in the 1920’s. It was then reworked, as evidenced by the “1920” rework stamp on the receiver. After it was reworked, it was sent to the Prussian police force in the 1920’s. It is all matching (except for the rear toggle pin) and has Prussian police Eagle proofs on the right side of the slide. It also has a Prussian police unit marking on the front strap, “S.H. 189”, which stands for the Hannover district. It has retained about 94-95% of its bluing. There is wear on the side plate, side rails, around the muzzle, and at the base of the front strap. Minor pin-pricking on both straps. Some very light surface scratches here and there. Comes with nice mismatched grips and a mismatched WW2-era magazine. Excellent bore – shiny with strong rifling.
