6/24/21 – This is an original K98 bayonet from 1940 with a matching numbered scabbard. The blade and scabbard are both numbered 2686h. The reverse of the blade is maker stamped by E.u.F. Horster. The spine is stamped “40” for 1940. The bluing on the blade is excellent with some minor finish loss near the tip. No signs of sharpening. Excellent handle and scabbard as well. the leather frog has some surface scuffing and aging wear but no major damage.
